About me (Rick Knight)

Quick summary

I have been working in the Information Technology industry for over 14 years and in that time have worked in a wide variety of roles including system administrator, accounting software consultant, college IT lecturer, network administrator, web developer and software developer.

After initially working for a number of years in network administration and software consulting I took a position as a full-time IT lecturer for TAFE WA where I worked for over 6 years. In 2006 I was honoured to be one of the first-round winners in the Premiers Teacher of the Year Award, after being nominated by students and fellow staff.

After leaving TAFE I worked as a self-employed software developer and spent the next 4+ years creating software applications, databases and websites for a large group of clients that included SWAN TAFE, Wiseclick Training, C2iT, Link Low Loaders, Integrity Business Services, Fremantle Hospital Pain Management Clinic, Landmark Settlements, Bonaparte Diamonds, Global Marine and many, many more.

From mid 2010 I began reducing the amount of new software development work I accepted and increasingly focussed my business on providing IT training services.

I now work full-time as a freelance IT trainer providing services to Registered Training Organisations and businesses in and around Perth.
